Kyiv and Helsinki Expand Defense Industry Cooperation

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the agreements after meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, describing the move as a key step in strengthening Ukraine's ability to defend itself and deepening cooperation with European allies. The partnership is part of Kyiv's broader push to expand domestic arms production and build closer defense-industrial ties with Europe.

Zelensky also held a separate meeting with U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and James Lankford, where the focus was on intensifying pressure on Russia and maintaining American support for Ukraine. During their conversation, Zelensky briefed the senators on Moscow's continuing ballistic missile strikes, stressing that granting Ukraine a license to produce missiles for Patriot air-defense systems would be an important development.

International Delegation Arrives in Kyiv

On the morning of August 23, an international delegation arrived in Kyiv for an official two-day visit. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda was among the visitors, joined by leaders and senior officials from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, and Norway. Andrii Sybiha confirmed the delegation's arrival.
