Business lending surges in Ukraine's high-risk war zones
Ukraine's lending activity over the past week
According to Мін. Економіки: Last week, Ukraine issued 506 new loans under the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program, with a total value of 1.75 billion UAH. The largest increase in loan volume came from areas classified as high war risk, which accounted for 581 million UAH-33.2% of all new funds disbursed during the week.
Program results to date
Since the start of the year, the program has facilitated 22,100 loans worth 102.9 billion UAH. Lending to businesses in high military risk zones reached 34.7 billion UAH, while processing enterprises received 29.3 billion UAH and investment projects secured 15 billion UAH.
In 2026, 769 energy loans were issued at 0% interest, totaling 1.2 billion UAH. The Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program has been running since February 2020, during which time 157,000 loans worth 565 billion UAH have been granted. Of these, 122,200 loans amounting to 475.4 billion UAH were issued under martial law.
This data highlights ongoing lending activity in Ukraine despite wartime challenges. The Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program continues to support businesses, especially those in high-risk war zones, reflecting the government's efforts to stimulate the economy and provide financial aid to entrepreneurs during difficult times.
