For the next heating season, they have allocated over three billion hryvnias. These funds will go towards the purchase of solid fuel for families. Each family will receive 19,400 hryvnias for the heating season 2025-2026.
During a meeting with representatives of foreign donor countries, particularly from the USA, EU, Germany, the UK, Norway, and Switzerland, financial support for vulnerable citizens in frontline territories was discussed. This will help many people survive the winter in a warm home.
'Thanks to financial support from partners, hundreds of thousands of vulnerable citizens in frontline territories will be able to spend the winter warm in their homes. ... Additional support programs should be launched as soon as possible with the help of donors,'
Over the past two years, the Ministry of Social Policy along with the UNHCR has already provided additional funds for heating with solid fuel for more than 500,000 households. In total, in 2024-2025, 3.24 billion hryvnias were allocated for this purpose. This is a significant contribution to helping families in difficult situations. However, some families did not receive support last year due to payment issues. Therefore, it is very important to ensure support from our donors as soon as possible.
