Ukraine's accession to the EU roaming zone

According to Главком: Ukraine has officially joined the EU roaming zone 'Roaming like at Home', allowing Ukrainians to use mobile communication in 27 countries of the European Union without additional costs starting from January 1, 2026. This decision marks an important step in the development of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the field of telecommunications.

According to the new terms, Ukrainian citizens will have the opportunity to send SMS and use mobile internet in EU countries under the same conditions as at home. This means that Ukrainians will be able to avoid extra roaming charges while traveling to European countries. It is important to note that along with Ukrainians, Moldovan citizens will also receive similar rights.

Impact on integration and development

Ukraine's joining the 'Roam like at Home' policy has been agreed upon by the European Commission, indicating the further integration of Ukraine into European structures. This decision aims to facilitate communication between people in Ukraine and the European Union, providing more convenient conditions for communication during travels. Thus, starting from 2026, Ukrainians will enjoy mobile communication in the EU without additional financial burdens.

Ukraine's accession to the 'Roaming like at Home' program emphasizes the growing integration of the country into European economic and social structures.

This can also contribute to an increase in tourist flows and business opportunities between Ukraine and the European Union. The implementation of new roaming conditions will be an important factor in improving connections between Ukrainians and their European partners, which, in turn, can positively impact Ukraine's economic development.
