Ukraine has started the final screening session for the energy cluster
According to hvylya.net: Ukraine has started meetings with the European Commission as part of the screening of the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law regarding negotiations in sections 15 'Energy' and 21 'Trans-European Networks'. The screening meetings are the final ones within Cluster 4 'Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity', reports the Government Portal.
Directions of screening and negotiation section
As part of the screening, Ukrainian specialists will present the state progress in areas such as: energy efficiency, energy efficiency of buildings, gas markets, supply security, renewable energy sources, trans-European networks, electricity markets, energy labeling and ecodesign, nuclear energy.
The negotiation section 15 'Energy' covers EU policy in enhancing competitiveness, energy security, and environmental protection. EU law acts in this area consist of rules and policies, including those concerning competition and state aid (including in the coal sector), internal energy market (opening electricity and gas markets, promoting the development of renewable energy sources), energy efficiency, nuclear energy, and nuclear safety and radiation protection.
- Section 21 'Trans-European Networks' covers the policy of trans-European networks in the fields of transport, telecommunications, and energy infrastructure, including EU guidelines for the development of trans-European networks and support measures for the development of projects of common interest. The creation and development of trans-European networks, as well as promoting proper interconnection and interaction of national networks, aim to fully utilize the advantages of the EU Internal Market and promote economic growth and job creation in the European Union.
Ukraine has started meetings with the European Commission to assess the compliance of our legislation with EU standards in the fields of energy and trans-European networks. Conducting the screening will help establish cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in these vital areas and accelerate the process of Ukraine's integration into European structures.
