Ukraine's plans in the field of ballistics and anti-ballistic systems

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukraine plans to achieve significant results in creating its own ballistic systems and a new anti-ballistic system FREYJA in 2026-2027. President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting where key aspects of the program were discussed, a schedule was established, responsible persons were appointed, and areas that need acceleration were identified. The involved structures reported on existing needs and the stages of the programs that have been implemented.

Various state institutions are involved in the work on the FREYJA program, including:

• NSDC
• Prime Minister of Ukraine
• Ministry of Defense
• Foreign Intelligence Service
• Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
• Brave1 team
• teams of the Ukrainian defense industry

The meeting discussed access to critical components, localization of production, and technological cooperation with partners. Particular attention was paid to the PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles for Patriot complexes.

'Held a meeting regarding the preparation of our ballistic systems and the status of tasks related to the anti-ballistic program FREYJA. Zelensky also emphasized that developing its own ballistic systems and creating a new anti-ballistic system is a task accomplished by an absolute minority of countries worldwide. 'We can state that our arms manufacturers have already reached the necessary level,' the president added.

Zelensky expressed hope for the joining of partner countries to the Anti-Ballistic Coalition, emphasizing that 'Europe needs a joint and truly large-scale capability to effectively defend against any ballistic threats.' He also urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense to actively communicate with partners 'who have already been identified and discussed multiple times.'
