High-Level Talks Between Ukraine’s President and European Commission President

According to Зеленський: Ukraine’s President recently engaged in a crucial dialogue with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, focusing on key security challenges facing both Ukraine and Europe. A significant point of discussion involved the allocation of remaining funds from the SAFE program to support new defense projects aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s military capabilities and deepening cooperation with the European Union.

Both leaders acknowledged the urgent need to explore fresh avenues for financing Ukraine’s defense efforts. To further this objective, they agreed to convene a meeting during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in New York, providing a platform for more detailed negotiations on defense funding.

Expressing his gratitude, Ukraine’s President said, “I thanked Ursula for the attention to Ukraine and security issues in her annual State of the Union Address.”
