The ministers reached an agreement to soon establish embassies in each other's capitals, Kyiv and Damascus. This move was described as a significant step toward strengthening bilateral partnership. The discussions also focused on security matters, particularly the interconnected stability of Europe and the Middle East. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also made an official visit to Syria, where he held talks with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa in Damascus. The leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region. "We have agreed to open embassies in Kyiv and Damascus in the near future-an important step in strengthening our partnership," stated Andrii Sybiha.
