Ukraine and the USA agreed on a military support document: details of the chiefs of staff meeting

According to ХВИЛЯ: On January 3, 2023, a bilateral meeting was held in Ukraine at the level of the general staffs of Ukraine and the USA, during which a military support document was agreed upon. This document contains four sections and appendices related to framework documents, security guarantees, and a peace plan. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrii Hnatov, as well as the Deputy Foreign Minister Serhii Kyslytsia and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, participated in the talks.

During the meeting, it was noted that some documents are ready at 100%, while others are at 90%. The security guarantees mentioned in the document include the formation of multinational forces that could be deployed in Ukraine. Advisors on national security from European countries also arrived in Kyiv, including representatives from:

• Europe-led multinational forces that could be deployed in Ukraine
• American 'backstop' - support for these forces from the USA
