Ukraine and Britain will create a working group on critical minerals: what it means

Cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom in the field of critical minerals and mining safety

The Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Yegor Perelygin met with the UK Minister for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty.

During the meeting, they discussed the formation of a joint working group on critical minerals, rare metals, and materials for the defense industry. Leading mining, consulting, engineering companies, and financial institutions will participate in this group.

They also discussed financing from the USA and preparations for conducting a Feasibility Study on priority deposits. They highlighted opportunities for raising the qualifications of Ukrainian specialists and improving labor safety in the mining industry, particularly concerning critical minerals.

The next step will be to compile a list of companies to participate in a joint working format and develop an agreed action plan. The meeting took place during a working visit to London.

Ukraine and the United Kingdom discussed cooperation in the fields of critical minerals and miners' safety. Issues of financing and preliminary preparations for important research were also in focus. Further expansion of cooperation and preparation of specific action plans is planned.
