Ukraine Strikes Kronstadt and Fuel Depots Deep Inside Russian Territory
Ukrainian Defense Forces Target Russian Military and Logistics Infrastructure
According to Главком: On June 5 and 6, 2026, Ukraine’s Defense Forces launched strikes against Russian military and logistics sites across multiple regions, including Leningrad Oblast, Krasnodar Krai, Belgorod, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts. The attacks hit several strategic assets, such as:
- the Kronstadt naval base
- fuel storage facilities
- an ammunition depot
- other key locations
During the night of June 6, Ukrainian units struck Russian military installations. Among the targets was the Kronstadt base in Leningrad Oblast, along with the Peterhof fuel depot and the Neste oil terminal in Lomonosov-a facility capable of storing 40,000 cubic meters of light petroleum products. Also hit was an arsenal belonging to the 1060th Logistics Center in the settlement of Velyka Izhora.
Additionally, Ukrainian forces targeted a command observation post near Malynivka in Belgorod Oblast and destroyed a matériel warehouse near Karaichne in Luhansk Oblast. Drone control centers in the areas of Voskresenka and Otradne in Donetsk Oblast, as well as Novofedorivka and Zaliznychne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, were also struck.
Coordinated Ukrainian Military Operations
Strikes were also carried out against concentrations of Russian personnel in several regions. These included areas near Pokrovsk and Rodynske in Donetsk Oblast, as well as near Petropavlivka in Kharkiv Oblast, and around Tyotkino and Anatoliivka in Russia’s Kursk Oblast. These operations were the result of joint efforts by the Security Service of Ukraine, the Defense Forces, and the Main Intelligence Directorate, all aimed at degrading Russian military and logistics infrastructure on Russian soil.
These attacks highlight Ukraine’s proactive strategy to weaken Russia’s military capabilities amid the ongoing conflict. By successfully hitting strategic targets, Ukraine aims to reduce the operational effectiveness of Russian forces, potentially shifting the battlefield dynamics. As hostilities intensify, the international community must closely monitor the evolving situation.
In addition to these significant strikes on land, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have also demonstrated their operational reach by targeting a Russian missile vessel in the Caspian Sea. This coordinated action underscores the multifaceted approach Ukraine is taking to disrupt Russian military capabilities.
