Ukraine Responds to Actions by Hungary and Slovakia

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected demands issued by the governments of Hungary and Slovakia. The ministry stated that any ultimatums should be directed at the Kremlin, not Kyiv. This stance underscores Ukraine's commitment to constructive dialogue and effective solutions amid complex energy security challenges. The country remains in constant contact with the European Commission regarding infrastructure damage inflicted by the Russian Federation.

Information concerning the consequences of attacks on the Druzhba oil pipeline has been communicated to the Slovak and Hungarian sides. Repair work on the relevant infrastructure is currently ongoing within Ukraine. This situation unfolds against the backdrop of a wider European energy crisis, highlighting the continent's vulnerability to supply disruptions.

Alternative Routes for Non-Russian Oil Supplies Proposed

In response to the current situation, Ukraine has proposed alternative pathways to resolve the issue of supplying non-Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia. Diplomats emphasized that such proposals could help reduce dependence on Russian energy resources. Kyiv is also considering activating the Early Warning Mechanism provided for in the EU Association Agreement, which could improve communication and coordination of actions in the energy sector.

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry declared that ultimatums should be sent to the Kremlin, and certainly not to Kyiv.

Amid a growing energy crisis and regional dependence on Russian resources, Ukraine is actively seeking ways to diversify energy supplies. Cooperation with the European Union and proposals for alternative oil supply routes could become crucial steps in reducing reliance on Moscow and enhancing the energy security of the region. This situation further highlights the importance of diplomatic efforts in resolving energy issues between neighboring states.
