Agricultural Hub Launched in Ghana
According to Мін. Економіки: In a strategic move to strengthen international ties, Ukraine has inaugurated its first agricultural hub on the African continent in the Republic of Ghana. This initiative, part of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's 'Food from Ukraine' program, is a significant step toward enhancing food security in West Africa. The new processing and distribution center was established following a Memorandum of Cooperation between Ukraine's Ministry of Economy and Ghana's Ministry of Food and Agriculture. This development underscores Ukraine's continued commitment to global food stability, even as it defends itself against a full-scale invasion.
During the opening ceremony, 4,000 food packages were distributed to vulnerable groups, including Ghanaian widows. The event was attended by Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Denys Bashlyk. Minister of Agrarian Policy, Oleksii Soloviov, emphasized the initiative's importance, stating:
'Despite the ongoing war, Ukraine maintains its role in global food security. This initiative demonstrates that modern food support can be far more substantial than just supplying commodities.' Oleksii Soloviov
The Hub's Strategic Importance
The launch of the Ghana hub is a strategic endeavor for Ukraine, aimed at supporting food security in regions in need and solidifying its position as a key player on the global agricultural market. This project is expected to positively impact Ukraine's international image, showcasing its resilience and capacity as a reliable partner. The collaboration with Ghana could serve as a foundation for expanding agricultural production and export opportunities to other African nations, fostering long-term economic and diplomatic relationships.
