Record Volume of International Aid to Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, announced a record volume of international aid for 2025 and the need for $60 billion for 2026. The year 2025 is significant for Ukraine, as it may attract up to $45 billion in international support. However, to successfully meet defense tasks in 2026, the country requires significantly more funding.

The total volume of Ukraine's defense needs in 2026 amounts to $120 billion. It is important to note that Ukraine can cover half of this need with its own resources. However, to obtain PURL packages in 2026, an additional $15 billion must be allocated.

Priorities for Using International Aid

The priorities for using international aid remain:

  • air defense;
  • support for Ukrainian drone and other weapon manufacturing;
  • ammunition supply;
  • funding for the PURL mechanism.

These areas are critically important for enhancing the country's defense capability amid the ongoing conflict.

The announced need for $60 billion for 2026 underscores the seriousness of the situation in Ukraine, where a military conflict with Russia continues. Given that international support is key to ensuring defense capability, these figures reflect not only economic challenges but also strategic ones that the country faces.

Attracting additional resources and their effective use will determine the further development of Ukraine's defense capabilities.
