Launch of the 'Dodomu' Digital Platform
According to Міністерство соц. політики: Ukraine has unveiled a new online tool called 'Dodomu' (meaning 'Home'), designed for Ukrainians abroad who are contemplating a return to their homeland. The announcement was made on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) held in Gdańsk. Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity for European Integration, Ilona Havronska, provided details about the platform's launch.
The 'Dodomu' platform serves as a comprehensive guide, helping users understand the necessary steps for preparing their return and creating a personalized repatriation plan. Currently operating in a test phase, the platform is accessible via a provided link. It was developed under the YOUA project-'Forging New Paths, Building Ukraine’s Future'-which is implemented by GIZ Ukraine: Sustainable Economic Development on behalf of the German Government, in collaboration with Ukraine’s Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity.
Features of the 'Dodomu' Platform
The technical development of the platform was carried out by the NGO 'Technologies of Progress.' Content is being populated in partnership with the Association of Ukrainian Cities. Through this platform, users can access information on:
- available services;
- employment opportunities;
- educational programs;
- social support systems in Ukraine;
- 'business cards' of communities ready to welcome and assist people during their reintegration process.
Additionally, the platform provides data on local services, infrastructure, opportunities, and contact details, as well as information about Unity Centers and organizations that are part of the Unity Network abroad, where individuals can receive support in making their decision.
The launch of 'Dodomu' represents a significant step in supporting Ukrainians who are planning to return to the country after living abroad. This resource not only offers essential information but also fosters social integration, which is critically important in the context of Ukraine’s recovery and the support of its citizens during these challenging times. The platform also underscores the efforts of international partners, such as the German Government, in facilitating the return of Ukrainians and strengthening their ties with their homeland.
The successful implementation of the 'Dodomu' platform underscores the importance of strengthening local communities in Ukraine. As the nation prepares for the return of millions of displaced individuals, it is crucial to establish support systems that facilitate this process.
