Ukrainian para-swimmers won 11 medals in a day: results of the World Championship

According to glavcom.ua: Other awards went to Maksym Veraksa, Vladyslav Koshman, Ihor Nimchenko, Danilo Chufarov, Danilo Semenikhin, and Denys Ostapchenko. The Ukrainian team ranked 10th in the overall medal standings with 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals. This is the second most successful performance of Ukraine in the entire history of participation in the European Youth Olympic Festival.
On the fifth day of the competitions at the World Championship in Paralympic swimming, Ukrainian athletes won 11 awards. Anna Gontar became the gold medalist in the 50m freestyle and silver in the 100m breaststroke. Oleksii Virchenko won gold in the 50m freestyle in the S13 class. Andrii Trusov also became the world champion in the 50m butterfly, while Eduard Horodianyn was the fastest in the 50m freestyle in the S8 class.
Ukrainian athletes continue to confirm their high sporting mastery in international swimming competitions, reflecting strong training and great potential of Paralympic sports in Ukraine. Their successes not only delight the fans but also elevate the popularity and prestige of the Paralympic movement in the country.
