Successes of Ukrainian rowers at the World Championships
According to glavcom.ua: The Ukrainian team at the U23 World Canoe Sprint Championships in Montemor-o-Velho (Portugal) won 7 medals.
The awards were received by:
«Gold»: Yaroslav Verblyud, Taras Kuzik, Volodymyr Savchin, and Vitaliy Prystay (Canoe four, 500 m, youth, 1:35.73).
«Silver»: Elizaveta Voziuk (Canoe single, 200 m, juniors, 49.54).
«Silver»: Ksenia Ttompely (Kayak single, 200 m, juniors, 44.11).
«Silver»: Elizaveta Voziuk, Iryna Nedilko, Sofia Zhushman, and Oleksandra Turchyn (Canoe four, 500 m, juniors, 1:58.62).
«Bronze»: Volodymyr Savchin, Taras Kuzik (Canoe double, 500 m, youth).
«Bronze»: Vitaliy Prystay (Canoe single, 200 m, youth, 41.21).
«Bronze»: Varvara Semikina (Kayak single, 500 m, juniors, 1:59.34).
Currently, Ukraine ranks 10th in the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival with 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.
Ukraine's participation in Festivals
Participation in Festivals in 2021 became the second-highest for Ukraine in terms of the number of medals in its history, after the record-breaking year of 2019, when 25 medals were won. The athletes of the Ukrainian team achieved the best results specifically in judo, winning six medals, including bronze in the team tournament.
