According to Главком: On March 14, 2026, the eighth day of competition at the Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Paralympics, six gold medals were awarded across para alpine skiing, para cross-country skiing, and wheelchair curling. The Ukrainian team added one medal to its tally, earning silver in the mixed relay para cross-country skiing event. The Paralympics showcase extraordinary athleticism, with competitors grouped by the type and extent of their impairment to ensure fair competition.

Medals for the day were decided in several disciplines. In the mixed relay para cross-country skiing:

  • Silver - Ukraine
  • Bronze - China

In the open relay:

  • Gold - China
  • Silver - Germany
  • Bronze - Norway

The Ukrainian team finished in fourth place in this event.

Success in Para Alpine Skiing and Wheelchair Curling

In para alpine skiing, the women's visually impaired slalom saw Veronika Aigner of Austria take gold, with her compatriot Elina Stary winning silver. Alexandra Rexova of Slovakia claimed bronze. In the sitting class, victory went to Varvara Voronchikhina of Russia, with silver for Wenzin Zhu of China and bronze for Mikaela Gosselin of Canada. In the standing class, the gold medal was won by Wenzin Zhang of China, silver went to Nette Kiviranta of Finland, and bronze was awarded to Audrey Pascual Seco of Spain.

Furthermore, in wheelchair curling for mixed teams, the gold medal was secured by Canada, with China taking silver and Sweden earning bronze. It is notable that Jake Adicoff of the United States won his third gold medal of the 2026 Paralympics, while China's team in mixed para curling has remained undefeated since 2014. Austria, meanwhile, moved back into third place in the overall medal standings.

The ninth day of the Paralympics is scheduled to feature 10 medal events. Entering the day with 17 medals already, the Ukrainian team continues to demonstrate strong performances on the world stage.
