Ukrainian Forces Use FPV Drones to Eliminate Russian Breakthrough Groups Near Kupyansk
Russian Infiltration Attempts Into Kupyansk Are on the Rise
According to Главком: Despite repeated efforts by Russian troops to slip into the city with small infantry units, Ukrainian forces maintain full control over Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region. A company commander from the 3rd Company, 1st Battalion of the 'Khartyia' Brigade, who goes by the call sign 'Zanuda,' confirmed that Russian soldiers are attempting to infiltrate Kupyansk. However, the vast majority of these groups are either destroyed or captured by Ukrainian defenders. These infiltration attempts have become more frequent than during the early stages of operations in this sector, signaling an escalation in enemy activity.
Ukrainian troops have established defensive positions that significantly hinder Russian advances. 'One or two infantrymen sneak in, and they get killed. After a while, more try to slip through under cover of weather or through the green zones. But this is not their territory,' said Commander 'Zanuda.' This highlights how effectively Ukrainian forces are able to monitor and control the area.
Strategic Situation in Kupyansk
Infantry and FPV drones now dominate the battlefield in this sector, serving as the primary means of engagement along the front line. Both sides also deploy artillery and aviation. 'One, two, or three infantrymen move out. In most cases, it's just one. He's told to go from point A to point B and that he'll be met at point B-but that's not true,' explained 'Zanuda.' According to him, many of these soldiers never reach Ukrainian positions; during FPV drone attacks, they often surrender.
Although Russian forces are trying to intensify their actions, the commander noted that 'we have many advantages on our side. We have very strong units stationed here, and the terrain-especially the river-works in our favor.' He also pointed out that the small bridgehead on this side of the river is insufficient for the enemy to accomplish their objectives. 'I don't see any chance for them here right now,' 'Zanuda' concluded.
As a result, Ukrainian troops continue to effectively hold Kupyansk, neutralizing all Russian attempts to capture the city. This situation underscores the strategic importance of territorial control in the region, as Kupyansk remains a key point along the front line. Moving forward, Russian forces may need to reconsider their tactics and strategy in this area, given the losses they have sustained and the strength of Ukrainian defensive positions.
As the situation intensifies, understanding the broader context of the ongoing conflict in the region is essential.
