Request for additional funding for humanitarian needs

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukraine, together with the UN, is preparing a request for additional funding for humanitarian needs due to the critical impact of Russian shelling on energy and civilian infrastructure. Deputy Head of the President's Office Iryna Vereshchuk reported on new challenges of the humanitarian crisis that have arisen as a result of the military actions of the Russian Federation.

The funding request is being developed in coordination with the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Matthias Schmale. This request includes the implementation of the humanitarian needs and UN response plan for 2026. Major donors that may support the funding include:

Priority areas for assistance

One of the priority areas is the urgent restoration of energy facilities to support the civilian population. It is also planned to supply equipment for decentralized heating, which will become an important element in providing comfortable conditions for people during blackouts. In addition, the functioning of social institutions will be ensured, which is critically important for supporting the population during the energy crisis.
