Ukrainians may lose deferment in September: who will lose the right
According to hvylya.net: Ukrainians have been informed about the reasons for which deferments may be revoked in September. As reported by 'Khvylia', this is stated in the material of UNIAN.
Ukraine continues to mobilize men of conscription age. Those who cannot serve in the Armed Forces due to family circumstances or health reasons are granted deferments. Employees of strategically important enterprises can also be exempted from conscription through their employers.
Who cannot be exempted from mobilization
Changes in the rules for granting deferments for certain specialties are not anticipated in September. Heads of enterprises that are critical for the country's economy have the opportunity to refuse conscription for their employees.
Usually, there remains the possibility to exempt only half of the conscription-age employees. This means that some men will still be summoned for service, even if they work at important facilities. The choice of candidates to be exempted remains at the discretion of the enterprise management.
Reservists (former military personnel who have transitioned to reserve) cannot count on such privileges – the law does not provide exceptions for them. Additionally, individuals who have violated military registration requirements cannot be exempted from conscription. Men who are wanted in the 'Reserv+' system cannot be technically booked.
When the right to be exempt from conscription is lost
Reasons for temporary exemption from mobilization are already known: the presence of a disability, raising three or more children, or one child with a disability, caring for a disabled family member. Parents who raise children alone and Ukrainians returning from Russian captivity may also receive exceptions.
However, meeting only these conditions does not guarantee avoidance of conscription. It is very important to officially register the right to deferment at the territorial recruitment center and ensure it is reflected in the 'Reserv+' system. If a man, for example, has the right to exemption (for instance, is disabled), but has never approached the military enlistment office to formalize the documents, he may be drafted into service. This will be completely legal.
An already granted deferment can be revoked in case of violation of established rules. For example, students lose the right to deferment if they switch to part-time study or obtain a second higher education diploma. Also, parents of large families who do not fulfill their alimony obligations lose their right to deferment. It is important that all birth certificates of children indicate the same father, regardless of the woman from whom they were born.
Ultimately, no radical changes in deferments from mobilization are planned in Ukraine in September. Men of conscription age may be exempted from conscription by entrepreneurs critical to the country's economy. But it is worth remembering that even with permission for deferment, if the requirements are not met, you may still be drafted into service.
