For example, a 925 standard means that the jewelry consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% impurities (mainly copper).

You can check the silver for authenticity even at home. For this, you will need one of the following items: a magnet, iodine, chalk, vinegar, paper.

If you rub silver with chalk, it should leave a dark mark. You can also check this metal for authenticity using vinegar. You need to scratch the jewelry in an inconspicuous place and drip a little liquid on it. Real silver will produce white foam, while a fake piece will produce green foam.

Be careful with iodine, as it can damage the item. You should run a cotton swab dipped in iodine over the jewelry and rinse it off immediately. A cloudy dull gray spot will appear on the silver, which will eventually disappear.
