Ukrainians face fines for nuts: where collection is prohibited
In the warm season and at the beginning of autumn, many Ukrainians go to the forests to collect mushrooms, berries, and nuts. However, it is important to remember that such activities may lead to administrative sanctions as stipulated by Article 70 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
Ukrainian legislation establishes liability for unauthorized collection of wild forest products.
According to current legislation, collecting mushrooms, berries, nuts, and other forest fruits in forests without the appropriate permits or in prohibited places is an offense. To legally collect certain plants, a forest ticket is required. Offenders may face fines:
- for ordinary offenders – from 17 to 51 hryvnias;
- for officials – from 51 to 119 hryvnias.
It is also necessary to observe territorial restrictions and collection deadlines, as violations may lead to financial losses. Therefore, when gathering forest gifts, it is important to comply with the legislation to avoid unwanted consequences.
