Health Screening 40+ Program

According to Главком: A new initiative called "Health Screening 40+" has been launched in Ukraine, offering free medical checkups aimed at early detection of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and mental health issues. Starting January 31, 2026, under the auspices of Ukraine’s Ministry of Health, the program provides citizens aged 40 and older with a one-time government voucher worth 2,000 hryvnias to cover the cost of a screening.

How to Participate

Eligibility is open to Ukrainian citizens who have reached the age of 40. The rules for participation are outlined in a resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, adopted on December 10, 2025, under number 1652. The basic health screening is free of charge and includes:

  • a physical examination;
  • a health questionnaire;
  • laboratory and instrumental tests.

As part of the screening, a lipid panel and a glycated hemoglobin test are performed.

Individuals can take advantage of this free screening once per year. To apply, there are two options: through the "Diia" mobile app or at Administrative Service Centers (known as TsNAPs). Funds are typically credited within seven days after the application is submitted. The money is strictly designated for use at medical facilities for the screening. Once the funds are credited, participants have two months to use the service. For those who received the funds before amendments were made to the resolution, the deadline for using the money has been extended to June 30, 2026.

The "Health Screening 40+" program represents a significant step forward in improving public healthcare by enabling early detection and prevention of diseases that can severely impact quality of life. Offering free checkups alongside financial support is a key component of the government's health policy.

The launch of the "Health Screening 40+" program is part of the Ukrainian government's broader efforts to enhance population health and reduce the burden on the healthcare system.

Early disease detection can lower the risk of complications and reduce treatment costs, which could have a positive effect on the overall health of the population. Encouraging citizens to undergo regular checkups also helps raise awareness about personal health and the importance of preventive care.
