Property owners urgently need registration before 2013: who risks losing their home
Recommendations for real estate registration in Ukraine are provided by notary Natalia Manoylo. She noted that since 2013 there has been a unified state register of real estate, which contains complete data on the property rights of citizens and organizations. Therefore, registering property rights acquired before 2013 is very important, as it allows access to various state services and protects against real estate fraud.
"It is not possible to obligate a citizen to register property rights in the State Register of Rights to Real Estate if it has already been registered by the technical inventory bureau before 2013; it is rather a recommendation," Manoylo explained.
Steps to verify real estate registration
Regarding the verification of the presence of real estate in the register, the specialist recommends the following actions for owners. For properties purchased before 2013, one can contact the BTI for information or use the services of a notary. For properties registered after 2013, one can use the online service of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
