Ukrainians will be able to change their passport in Moldova only through Diia.Sign
In Chisinau, the passport service «DP Document» is transitioning to a new format for recording in the electronic queue. From now on, Ukrainians will be able to book an appointment only after verification through Diia.Sign. The new rules have already begun to take effect in test mode. This is reported by Visit Ukraine.
Diia.Sign in Moldova: how to make an appointment for a passport
Starting from April 20, 2026, the recording for the electronic queue will be conducted exclusively online with the confirmation of identity through Diia.Sign.
To make an appointment, you need to:
-
log into the electronic queue system;
-
pass verification through Diia.Sign;
-
choose a date and time for the visit;
-
confirm the appointment.
This mechanism allows for the verification of individuals during booking and eliminates fake appointments.
At the same time, it is important: the new regulation only concerns booking. It is still possible to receive already prepared documents without prior registration.
Passport in Chisinau: why new rules are being introduced
In «DP Document», it is explained that the transition to Diia.Sign is expected to increase the security and transparency of the system.
The main reasons for the changes are:
-
protection against bots and automatic bookings;
-
fighting against ticket resellers;
-
ensuring access to appointments for real users;
-
reducing queues.
It is expected that the new system will make the process of document processing more controlled, although technical difficulties may arise during testing.
The changes are aimed at improving access for Ukrainians abroad to consular services and optimizing the operation of the service.
Let us remind you that the app Diia has launched a new push notification feature that will inform users about the cancellation of registered residence.
