One-Year Government Roles Open for Ukrainians with International Careers

About the Initiative

According to Міністерство соц. політики: Ukrainians who have built their professional lives abroad are now being invited to apply for a one-year paid placement inside Ukraine's government teams through the 'Create Ukraine' program. The initiative was announced by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and is aimed at helping diaspora talent re-join the country's public sector while working on important national projects at a time of significant challenges for the nation.

Eligibility and Key Focus Areas

To take part, applicants must be Ukrainian citizens who are at least 22 years old and have either international work experience or a completed higher education degree from a foreign university. Participants will contribute to essential areas such as the reform of the social system, shaping policies that keep connections with Ukrainians living abroad, encouraging their voluntary return, and advancing Ukraine's European integration. The program also includes government relations (GR) training provided by KSE.

Selected professionals will collaborate closely with ministers and gain networking opportunities with top-level officials. Applications will be accepted until August 14, 2026.

Funding and Implementation

The initiative is funded by Lithuania through the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund. Its implementation is carried out by the Lithuanian Centre for International Partnerships (CPVA) together with KSE Foundation, with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and in coordination with the Government of Ukraine.

Beyond strengthening the public sector with globally experienced professionals, 'Create Ukraine' aims to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania. Reintegrating specialists who have gained international exposure is expected to bring fresh practices and innovative methods into public administration, helping modernize state institutions and support the country's recovery.
