Her opponent, the 17-year-old daughter of legendary boxer Mike Tyson, was unable to counter Sagdieva's dominant play. This tournament is part of the International Tennis Federation's circuit for developing professional players.

However, Sagdieva's run was halted in the next round, where she fell to the seventh-seeded Haley Giavara in a tight three-set match, 7-5, 4-6, 4-6.
