Ukrainian Customs Sets New Record with 56,000 Transit Declarations Processed
Surge in Transit Declarations Across Ukraine
According to Мінфін: Ukrainian customs processed a record-breaking 56,300 transit declarations under the customs visa-free regime during the second quarter of 2026, highlighting a significant uptick in foreign economic activity. A major milestone in this period was Ukraine's successful transition to the NCTS Phase 6 system in Opt-In mode, implemented on June 22. This upgrade aligns Ukraine with modern European customs standards, streamlining cross-border trade procedures.
Between April and June, 37,100 shipments originating from Ukraine were successfully completed in member countries of the Common Transit Convention. Additionally, Ukrainian customs offices finalized 19,200 movements that had been initiated abroad. June stood out as the most productive month since Ukraine joined the Convention, with nearly 13,000 departure declarations and around 7,000 destination declarations processed during that period.
Milestones for Ukrainian Customs Operations
Since the launch of NCTS in Ukraine on October 1, 2022, a total of over 380,800 declarations have been processed. These figures underscore the effectiveness of Ukrainian customs in implementing the visa-free customs regime and fostering international trade growth.
The rising number of processed transit declarations reflects the strengthening of Ukraine's foreign economic ties, which could have a positive impact on the country's economic outlook. The successful deployment of NCTS and enhanced customs control efficiency may attract foreign investment and boost Ukrainian exports, both critical drivers for sustained economic development.
