International Acclaim for Ukrainian Coin 'Hold the Line!' Secures Place Among World's Top 10

Ukrainian Coin 'Hold the Line!' Garners Global Recognition

According to НБУ: The commemorative Ukrainian coin titled 'Hold the Line!' earned international honors by winning the 'Most Inspirational Coin' category at the Coin of the Year awards held on August 27, 2024, in Pittsburgh, USA. Out of 600 entries from 41 countries, this striking coin was also ranked among the top 10 best coins worldwide. The annual competition, now in its 43rd edition, is hosted by the respected numismatic publication World Coin News with support from The Journal of East Asian Numismatics.

Ukrainian Entries Among the Best

Approximately 600 coins minted in 2025 competed in the contest. From these, 100 finalists were selected-10 coins in each of the 10 award categories. Notably, two Ukrainian commemorative coins advanced to this elite group:

• Hold the Line!
• The World of Fashion Art by Liubov Panchenko

The 'Hold the Line!' coin is crafted from nickel silver, carries a denomination of 5 hryvnias, and was designed by artist Andriy Sahach. The other coin, 'The World of Fashion Art by Liubov Panchenko,' made of silver with a 10-hryvnia face value, was also created by Sahach.
