The win marks a major milestone for Kostyuk, who had previously lost all four of her meetings with Swiatek without winning a single set. Swiatek, a four-time Roland Garros champion, was unable to counter the Ukrainian’s aggressive play during the match.

• Daria Snigur was eliminated in the second round, losing to American Peyton Stearns in straight sets.
• Anhelina Kalinina also exited after the first round, falling to French player Diane Parry despite winning the first set 6–0, as she could not maintain her lead in the following two sets.
