According to Міністерство інфраструктури: In 2025, the Ukrainian railway transported 28 million people, which is 200 thousand more than in the previous year, 2024. Among the passengers were 1.9 million children and 240 thousand pets. It was noted that over 300 thousand people traveled from frontline regions of the east and south to the Ukrainian mountains, indicating a growing demand for travel to safer areas.

Popular routes and trends

The most popular routes were:

• Kyiv - Lviv
• Kyiv - Kharkiv
• Kyiv - Dnipro

A record increase in passengers was observed on the following routes:

• Kremenchuk - Mukachevo
• Kyiv - Osnova
• Irpin - Lviv

For official delegations, 2200 flights were organized, which also indicates an increase in railway transportation.

Among the important routes that are in demand, the following can be highlighted:

• trains No. 128 Zaporizhzhia - Lviv
• trains No. 724/725 and No. 722/723 Kyiv - Kharkiv
• international connections such as trains No. 705/706 and No. 715/716 Kyiv - Przemyśl
