Ukrainian Contemporary Art Exhibition in France

According to Главком: An exhibition titled 'How Feelings Become Battlefields: Ukrainian Art and the Infrastructures of War' will open at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris on February 11, 2026. This event is part of the 'Traveling Ukraine, Ukrainian Season in France' program, which launched in December 2025 and runs through March 2026. The exhibition aims to present Ukrainian art and its complex relationship with the ongoing conflict.

Curated by Oksana Karpovets in partnership with the Ukrainian Institute and the French Institute, the show is the result of extensive collaborative efforts. Among the exhibition's concept authors is Svitlana Matviyenko, an associate professor in the School of Communication at Canada's Simon Fraser University.

Exhibition Program

The program will feature artistic presentations by the following creators:

  • Lesia Vasylchenko
  • Sasha Kurmaz
  • Serhii Petliuk

Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to attend a reading of an essay by Kateryna Yakovlenko. The exhibition will conclude with a roundtable discussion, providing a forum to analyze the presented works and their broader context. This event represents a significant moment for Ukrainian cultural diplomacy on the world stage.
