Trio of medals for Ukraine's Greco-Roman wrestlers at U17 World Championships in Baku

According to НОК: The U17 Wrestling World Championships are being held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from July 27 to August 2. This key international event gathers 675 athletes, including 242 Greco-Roman wrestlers, 242 freestyle wrestlers, and 191 female wrestlers.

Ukraine's Greco-Roman team delivered an impressive performance, securing three medals and finishing among the top five nations worldwide. The competition highlights the depth of young talent in the sport, with many athletes aiming for future Olympic glory.

Medalists and achievements

Tymofii Prykhodko claimed the U17 world champion title in the 110 kg weight class. Ibrahim Nasibov, competing at 65 kg, also made his mark; he is a multiple European U15 champion and medalist, and notably the younger brother of two-time Olympic silver medalist Parviz Nasibov. Hlib Yevsieiev earned a silver medal in the 92 kg category, becoming U17 vice-world champion.

The championship is still ongoing, and Ukraine's Greco-Roman wrestlers continue to showcase their strength, gaining international recognition.
