According to Главком: Ukrainian javelin thrower Artur Felfner and hammer thrower Mykhaylo Kokhan have delivered impressive performances in recent international competitions. Felfner is set to compete at the Diamond League event in Doha, Qatar-his first appearance in this series since September 2024. Back then, he finished sixth at the Brussels final with a throw of 79.86 meters. In Doha, he will face seven rivals ranked among the world's top ten, including Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharangana Patigare, who leads the global season with a 92.62-meter throw.

Also on the entry list is reigning world champion Keshorn Walcott, whom Felfner recently outperformed at a meet in Finland. There, Felfner threw 83.11 meters at the Continental Tour event in Lahti. So far in the 2026 season, Felfner has competed in two international meets, including a bronze medal finish at the Czech Josef Odložil Memorial with a 80.27-meter throw.

Mykhaylo Kokhan's Success

Ukrainian hammer thrower Mykhaylo Kokhan also achieved a major milestone, earning a silver medal at the USATF LA Grand Prix. This event holds gold-level status on the World Athletics Continental Tour. Kokhan opened with a 78.86-meter throw, improved to 81.00 meters in his third attempt, reached 81.23 meters in the fifth, and set a new personal best of 82.38 meters in the sixth. Notably, Kokhan is a bronze medalist from the 2024 Olympics.

France's Yan Chasinan won the USATF LA Grand Prix with a personal best of 82.44 meters in his third attempt. These results highlight the strong form and growing competitiveness of Ukrainian athletes on the international stage.
