Ukrainian para-judo athletes won a full set of awards at the European Championship
Ukrainian para-judo athletes dominated the European Championship in judo for athletes with visual impairments in Tbilisi, Georgia. Our athletes secured a full set of awards, astonishing fans of the sport, reports 'Hlavkom'.
In particular, the Ukrainian team, consisting of seven participants, earned three medals at these competitions:
«Gold»: Anastasia Harnyk (over 70 kg category, class J1 – totally blind).«Silver»: Anzhela Havrysyuk (up to 60 kg category, class J1).«Bronze»: Dmytro Solovey (up to 81 kg category, class J2 – visually impaired).
In addition, Ukraine showed itself very decently at the European Youth Olympic Festival, finishing 10th overall in the medal table. Our athletes won 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals, making their performance one of the most successful in the country's history of participation in these competitions since 1993. In particular, judo turned out to be the most successful sport, where our athletes won six awards, including bronze in the mixed team tournament.
