According to Спортивний комітет: Ukraine's national fin swimming team clinched the overall first place at a World Cup stage held in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy, from March 6 to 8. The impressive 16-athlete delegation secured a total of 29 medals: 13 gold, 7 silver, and 9 bronze. Fin swimming, also known as finswimming, is a competitive underwater sport where athletes use monofins or bifins to achieve high speeds.
The event featured over 700 athletes representing 97 clubs from 20 countries. Ukrainian competitors excelled across multiple disciplines. Gold medalists who won their events included:
- Oleksii Zakharov in the 200m with scuba
- Yevheniia Tymoshenko in the 100m with bifins
