Ukrainian Forces Target Russian Military Assets

According to ХВИЛЯ: In the early hours of April 20, Ukrainian defense forces executed a series of coordinated strikes against military and logistical targets within the Russian Federation. These attacks successfully hit several strategically significant sites, including:

  • An oil refinery in Tuapse;
  • An oil depot in temporarily occupied Crimea;
  • Two large landing ships in Sevastopol;
  • Ammunition depots;
  • Enemy command posts.

Among the damaged facilities was the Tuapse oil refinery in the Krasnodar region, where strikes hit a tank farm and ignited a fire. Furthermore, attacks struck the Gvardeyskaya oil depot in Crimea, a key logistical hub for Russian forces. In Sevastopol, two large landing ships were damaged: one from Project 1171 and another from Project 775.

Additional strikes targeted ammunition depots near the settlements of Urzuf in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region and Loknya in Russia's Belgorod region. A successful attack also hit a drone warehouse in the area of Nova Karakuba, as well as an enemy command and observation post near Blahodatne in Donetsk region. Information on casualties and the full extent of the damage is still being verified.

These strikes demonstrate Ukraine's growing capacity to project force against Russian military infrastructure deep behind the front lines.

Categories of Targets Hit

The types of facilities struck in the operation include:

  • An oil refinery;
  • An oil storage depot;
  • Two large amphibious assault ships;
  • Two ammunition depots;
  • A drone storage warehouse;
  • A command and observation post.

These coordinated attacks underscore the active efforts of Ukrainian forces to degrade Russian military capabilities. The strikes reflect a clear Ukrainian strategy to weaken the Russian Federation's warfighting potential by destroying critical logistical and military assets. Successful hits on both naval and land-based targets could significantly impact the operational capacity of Russian troops, potentially altering the situation on the front. Russia's response to these strikes will be closely watched, as it may attempt to bolster its defensive positions or retaliate with further aggressive actions.

These recent operations highlight a significant escalation in Ukraine's military strategy, particularly in targeting vital resources.
