Hryhorii Ilchyshyn etched his name into the history books with a European record, clocking the sixth-fastest time among men at 4.841 seconds. This achievement marked a significant milestone in the history of Ukrainian climbing.
Yaroslav Tkach also competed, advancing to the finals with the 13th-best qualifying time. However, he fell short in the final round after a slip against Japan’s Ryo Omasa, while Ilchyshyn was defeated by Vedrik Leonardo. The overall winner was 16-year-old Chinese phenom Zhao Yichen, who set a world record of 4.54 seconds during the semifinals.

An electrifying debut from 18-year-old Polina Khalkevych also made headlines. She became the first Ukrainian woman in five years to qualify for a World Cup final, following in the footsteps of Tetiana Kolkotkina, who achieved the same feat in Salt Lake City in 2021. The next World Cup stage is scheduled for May 28–31 in Madrid, where athletes will once again compete for top honors.
