Ukraine's Defense Forces Target Russian Infrastructure in Night Operations

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian defense forces executed a wave of overnight attacks on targets inside Russia, striking logistics centers in Sarapul, Kazan, and Volgograd. The distance to these sites ranged from roughly 500 to nearly 1,300 kilometers. Additional strikes hit a maritime terminal in the Krasnodar region, about 270 kilometers from the front line, and an oil refinery in the Volgograd area, located almost 480 kilometers from active combat zones. The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces confirmed that the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery was struck and caught fire.

Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine “continues to use our deep strikes and mid-range strikes against Russian infrastructure that serves Russian aggression.” He described the attacks as part of a long-range sanctions plan aimed at exhausting the resources behind Russia’s military machine. He also noted that “today there was corresponding work on three logistics centers in different regions of the Russian Federation: in Sarapul, Kazan, and Volgograd.”

Other targets included a Pole-21 electronic warfare system near Golubivka in the Luhansk region, an ammunition depot near Naumivka in Crimea, and a command post in the Bakhmut area. In occupied Yevpatoria, two hangars used to store aviation equipment and a production workshop of the Yevpatoria Aviation Plant were also hit. A large fire broke out at the port of Taman.

“Every struck enterprise of Russia’s military-industrial complex, every burning oil refinery or port, is another step toward exhausting the Russian military machine,” a Security Service of Ukraine representative added.

Reports also noted that a day earlier, drones attacked the port of Taman and two Wildberries logistics hubs. These strikes reflect Ukraine’s broader effort to conduct large-scale operations aimed at destroying the resources sustaining Russia’s invasion. By hitting logistics centers and infrastructure deep inside Russian territory, Ukrainian forces are evolving their tactics to weaken the enemy and set conditions for further defense and counteroffensives. These night operations also underscore Ukraine’s increasing ability to project force far beyond the front lines, while highlighting the importance of international support for the country’s fight for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

These recent strikes are part of a broader strategy targeting key Russian assets.
