According to ХВИЛЯ: The Ukrainian Red Cross has initiated a small business support program named 'Restart'. This initiative aims to provide micro-grants of up to 120,000 hryvnias to vulnerable groups of citizens. The application window for the program will be open from March 16 to April 10, 2026. This grant program is part of broader international efforts to help stabilize livelihoods in Ukraine.

Program Participation Requirements

Financial assistance under the program will be distributed to winners in two phases. The first half of the sum is provided to launch the project, with the second portion awarded after confirmation of the first block of the business plan's completion. To participate in the selection process, applicants must complete a questionnaire and prepare a financially justified concept. Selection will be conducted on a competitive basis.

The 'Restart' program is designed for individuals aged 18 to 65 who belong to vulnerable categories. These categories include:

  • Internally displaced persons;
  • Families affected by the war;
  • Veterans and their close relatives;
  • The unemployed;
  • Households with multiple children;
  • Families caring for elderly individuals or persons with disabilities.

Applicants can submit their documents at a Ukrainian Red Cross service center near their place of residence. There, they will receive an application form, a business plan template, and consultations.

The launch of the 'Restart' program represents a significant step in supporting vulnerable segments of Ukraine's population, particularly given the challenging economic conditions resulting from the ongoing war. Providing micro-grants can offer substantial assistance to those striving to rebuild their lives and secure a stable income. The initiative also underscores the importance of international partnerships in addressing the profound social challenges Ukraine faces due to the conflict.
