Competing in the under-60 kg weight class, Heydarov defeated a Turkish opponent in the final, showcasing outstanding skill and preparation.
Beyond Heydarov’s achievement, other Ukrainian athletes also delivered notable performances:
- Sofia Palamarenko, competing in the under-40 kg category, secured 5th place.
- Vitalii Lykhohliad, in the under-55 kg category, also finished 5th.
These results highlight the growing strength of youth judo in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian women’s national tennis team is gearing up for a Billie Jean King Cup quarterfinal match against Belgium. The final stage of the Cup will take place from September 22 to 27 in Shenzhen, China. Other matchups in this stage include:
