Ukrainian Filmmaker Joins Prestigious U.S. Television Academy

According to РБК-Україна — Lite: Volodymyr Mula, a Ukrainian director and producer, has become a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), the organization behind the annual Emmy Awards. He was granted the status of Charter National Member through the National Professional Membership program, a recognition that underscores his impact on the global television industry.

Mula is recognized for his collaborations with leading international media outlets such as BBC, CBS, and CNA. His professional portfolio includes coverage of major sporting events, among them:

  • the Eurovision Song Contest
  • the 2014 FIFA World Cup
  • Euro 2016
  • the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games
  • the Winter Olympics in South Korea
  • the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics

He has also produced several documentary films, including 'American Dream,' 'YUKI,' 'Football Nation,' and 'Game of Interception.'

In 2024, Mula earned a Sports Emmy Award for the documentary miniseries 'Football Must Go On,' which tells the story of the Donetsk-based football club Shakhtar. In a statement, Mula remarked:

'It is a great honor to join a professional community of the world's finest artists and to continue contributing to the field of sports and documentary filmmaking. In my world, filmmaking has always been about people, emotions, and stories that extend far beyond the screen.'

NATAS unites television professionals and oversees the presentation of national Emmy Awards across categories such as news, documentary and sports programming, children's and family content, and technological innovations.
