According to Главком: Ukrainian pole vaulter Vladyslav Malykhin has claimed his eighth consecutive NCAA Division II national title, making him the first athlete in NCAA history to win a national championship in a single event eight times in a row. His impressive showing at the championship also secured his fourth straight outdoor gold double. During the competition, he skipped the early heights but cleared 5.26 meters on his first attempt. He passed on 5.36 meters but missed on his initial try at 5.46 meters. However, in a decisive jump, Malykhin cleared 5.56 meters, cementing his victory.

Return to Ukraine

After finishing his collegiate career at Harding University, Malykhin announced his decision to return to Ukraine. Reflecting on his emotions, he stated:

“My last competition for Harding University is over, and I am not sad because I got everything I could have dreamed of.
