Yurii Semeniuk Adds Another Bronze to His Collection

According to Главком: Ukrainian volleyball player Yurii Semeniuk, representing the club Projekt Warszawa, has secured a bronze medal in the Polish PlusLiga. In the decisive match, his team swept Zheshuv with a 3-0 victory, taking each set by scores of 25-19, 25-15, and 25-20. This marks Semeniuk's third straight bronze medal with Projekt Warszawa, highlighting the team's consistent performance in recent years. The Polish PlusLiga is one of Europe's top volleyball leagues, making this achievement particularly significant.

What Lies Ahead for the Team

Semeniuk only appeared in the first match of the series, coming off the bench during the second set. In that game, he did not score any points but recorded one ball save. Prior to this, after the first three games against Zheshuv, the series stood at 2-1 in favor of Projekt Warszawa. Notably, Semeniuk joined Projekt Warszawa in 2022, finishing fifth in the PlusLiga during his debut season of 2022/2023. Over the following two seasons (2023/2024 and 2024/2025), he earned bronze medals.

Projekt Warszawa's next match is scheduled for the Volleyball Champions League semifinals, set for May 16, 2025, at 18:00 Kyiv time. Their opponent will be Perugia, led by Oleh Plotnytskyi, the Italian champion.

  • Both Semeniuk and Plotnytskyi have been named to the Ukrainian national team roster for the Volleyball Nations League.
  • The first match of the Volleyball Nations League will take place on June 10, 2025, against Japan.
  • Semeniuk will remain captain of the Ukrainian men's national volleyball team.

This victory for Projekt Warszawa underscores the team's success in the Polish volleyball scene and Semeniuk's consistency, as he continues to prove his value despite limited playing time in the decisive match. Upcoming games, particularly in the Champions League, could be pivotal for Semeniuk's career development and the team's ambitions to reach new heights on the international stage.

This recent success not only adds to Semeniuk's impressive achievements but also sets the stage for his leadership role in the upcoming international competitions. As the captain of the Ukrainian national volleyball team, he will be pivotal in guiding his teammates, including Oleh Plotnytskyi's return to the squad. With the Volleyball Nations League on the horizon, Semeniuk's experience will be crucial for the team's performance against formidable opponents.
