Artem Rybak’s Move to Barcelona

According to Главком: Attacking midfielder Artem Rybak has signed a contract with Spanish club Barcelona. The 16-year-old Ukrainian has committed to Barça for three years. The deal was finalized by Barcelona’s academy director, José Ramón Alexanco. Rybak will continue competing at the youth level for the Catalan side.

The young talent first joined Barcelona in 2022, having previously trained within the systems of Bukovyna and Shakhtar Donetsk. By fall 2023, Rybak had made his debut for Ukraine’s U-17 national team and has since represented various Ukrainian youth squads.

Transfers and Club Changes

Separately, French club Monaco is nearing a permanent purchase of former Barcelona wonderkid Ansu Fati. Fati spent this season on loan at Monaco, and the club now aims to secure a full transfer for the player.

It has also been announced that Barcelona legend Rafael Márquez will take over as head coach of the Mexican national team after the World Cup. This appointment was confirmed by Duilio Davino, director of the Mexican Football Federation, and Márquez’s contract has already been signed.

“We thank the Rybak family for trusting La Masia with the development of your son as both a footballer and a person,” Barcelona stated.

Rybak’s contract signing highlights Barcelona’s growing focus on young Ukrainian talent. His success with youth national teams could open doors for other Ukrainian prospects at European clubs. Meanwhile, the potential permanent transfer of Ansu Fati to Monaco underscores the French club’s push to build a competitive squad, which may boost its performance in upcoming tournaments.

As Barcelona continues to invest in young talents like Artem Rybak, the club is also reassessing its transfer strategies. Recently, the team decided against pursuing a deal for Marcus Rashford, primarily due to the hefty price tag set by Manchester United. This decision reflects Barcelona's focus on nurturing homegrown players rather than making costly acquisitions.
