'Winter Support' Program from Ukrposhta

Ukrposhta has expanded the payments under the 'Winter Support' program to all villages in Ukraine, including frontline areas. This initiative allows assistance to be received at over 26 thousand points of presence, including stationary and over 1850 mobile post offices. The amount of the payment is 6500 UAH, aimed at supporting families and individuals in need during the winter period.

Conditions and Categories of Assistance Recipients

Applications for assistance will be accepted until December 17 inclusive. It is important to note that there is a limited timeframe for using the allocated amount - six months (180 days) from the moment of crediting. Under the 'Winter Support' program, various categories of the population can receive assistance, including:

  • Families with children who have a low-income status;
  • Children from among internally displaced persons (IDPs) who are already receiving housing assistance;
  • Children under guardianship or custody;
  • Children with disabilities being raised in family-type children's homes (FTCH) and foster families;
  • Persons with disabilities of group I from among IDPs;
  • Single pensioners receiving care allowances.
General Director of Ukrposhta Igor Smilyansky noted that the company is the only one in the country that can ensure the availability of payments for all.

Smilyansky also assured that everyone will definitely receive their payments before the holidays. This program is aimed at making life easier for citizens who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.

The expansion of the 'Winter Support' program reflects the efforts of the Ukrainian government and Ukrposhta to ensure social protection for the most vulnerable groups of the population, especially in conditions of economic instability and military actions. The implementation of payments at such a number of access points aims not only at financial support but also at improving the quality of life for those in need. This initiative can be an important factor in the social strengthening of the community during the winter period, when many families face additional hardships.
