Ukrposhta launched a marketplace with free delivery even for cheap goods
On October 21, Ukrposhta launched its own shopping service in collaboration with Kasta. The new participant in the Ukrainian marketplace market claims over 10 million available products and free delivery even for small orders. This was reported by Ukrposhta's General Director Igor Smeliansky.
Ukrposhta Market: how shopping will work from October 21
You can use the marketplace through the application «Ukrposhta 2.0», which needs to be downloaded or updated. According to Smeliansky, customers will not have to accumulate products in the cart to receive free delivery.
As an example, the head of the company cited the purchase of cheap spices. The declared model should make small purchases more advantageous, when the cost of regular delivery might exceed the price of the item itself.
«Buy a packet of pepper for 21 hryvnias. Bought it, and Ukrposhta delivers it for free,» — explained Igor Smeliansky.
The project is created in partnership with Kasta. Ukrposhta positions it as a way to ensure access to necessary goods in various settlements, including places where nearby stores do not operate. No specific delivery times were mentioned in the announcement.
For customers, the service will become another feature of the postal application. Earlier, it introduced payment via Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as tools for managing shipments.
Ukrposhta Marketplace: funding and development plans
Smeliansky assured that the project does not receive government subsidies. In his words, this is a market model, which he compared to services from other postal operators and Amazon Prime.
«No. No one subsidizes anything. This is purely a market project,» — stated the head of Ukrposhta.
The company already has experience in selling goods: Smeliansky reported more than 1 billion hryvnias in sales through its trade division. Now, Ukrposhta aims to attract 2 million satisfied customers for the marketplace. This is the goal, not the current number of users.
Previously, the operator had already organized delivery of products from ATB. The new project expands this approach: the customer picks products online, and the postal operator ensures their delivery.
