Enhanced Rail Service for Odesa Oblast
Simultaneously, Ukrzaliznytsia is strengthening rail connections in Odesa Oblast, a move prompted by severe weather and ongoing energy challenges. A new daily train, No. 54/53 connecting Odesa and Dnipro, has been introduced. This service is a key part of efforts to maintain reliable transport links in southern Ukraine. Tickets are now available starting from 199 UAH and can be purchased through the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app, on the booking.uz.gov.ua website, or at station ticket offices.
“Tickets for the daily services are now available from 199 UAH in the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app, on the booking.uz.gov.ua website, and at station ticket offices,” the company announced.
In a separate development, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated 16 billion hryvnias to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development. These funds are designated to finance the state order for domestic railway passenger transportation in 2026.
The disruptions in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast highlight persistent infrastructure issues that can affect passenger convenience and safety. Conversely, the enhanced service in Odesa and the substantial government funding signal a concerted effort to improve the national transport system, particularly under challenging weather and energy conditions. These measures are expected to positively impact the availability and quality of rail travel for the public in the future.
