After the massive nighttime shelling, Ukrainian railway workers are gradually restoring the damaged infrastructure and returning passenger trains to their usual routes. Some of the services have already been stabilized, but certain trains are still running with delays. Ukrzaliznytsia reports this writes.

The company stated that repair crews have been working in several regions where tracks and energy infrastructure were damaged.

Railway shelling: where infrastructure is being restored

After the nighttime attack, repair works were carried out in three regions of Ukraine:

  • Zhytomyr region
  • Vinnytsia region
  • Rivne region.

Railway workers repaired the damaged sections of the tracks, contact wires, and power supply supports.

The most difficult situation remains in Zhytomyr. Significant destruction of the railway surface has been recorded due to a large number of drone strikes.

Train movement of Ukrzaliznytsia after the shelling

Due to the damage, some trains have been temporarily diverted to alternate routes. That is why some services arrive with delays.

The company warns that the delay times may change.

«As a result of operating on alternate routes, we have delays in a number of trains. You can track your train's movement on the uz-vezemo website. Delay times may change», - said Ukrzaliznytsia.

Meanwhile, most of the damaged sections have already been restored, so railway connections are gradually returning to the standard schedule.

 

Let us remind you that on the night of March 7, Russian troops carried out a massive shelling, due to which the railway infrastructure was damaged. As a result, some passenger trains in several regions of Ukraine had to change their routes and schedules.
